"green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises. " pedro calderon de la barca

It's been quite a month around here. Every weekend has been full of one thing or another.
On the first, I scheduled a day off to go clean the Cow Palace for our annual conventions this summer. The request for volunteers was certainly heard! There were some 2,500 who came to scrape gum, wash walls, scrub floors, and polish the seats. (There are some 15,000 seats, mind you!) What a beautiful sight it was to see all of us happy to be there to help. We were joking there would be a mere square inch for each of us to clean thoroughly. At times, though, it felt like it. I would scrub a surface. Amy would scrub the same surface. Then a third person would come along to scrub the same surface and ask "has this been cleaned?" I'm sure everything got the thrice over. When we were finished cleaning the Overseer's office, we went to the halls and scrubbed the walls and ceiling there, too! There were about 30 of us, all singing happily to Jehovah. What a joy to see so many praising Jehovah by their works! When my convention came around the following weekend, I was especially thankful to be there among Jehovah's people. The new publication is fantastic! I've already read it, and I am humbled. It had some much-needed counsel which I hope to apply daily.
The next weekend, my uncle and aunt had their 25th anniversary party. He had the band who played at their wedding come to play! You know me and bands, pretty soon I was up there singing. It was so much fun! (The party was great before that, the singing was the icing on the cake!) My family had never heard me sing, so they were shocked, to say the least, when they heard me belt out Janice. I always love the looks on people's faces-mouths gaping, hands hanging, eyes locked in wonderment. If I paid too much attention while singing, I might end up laughing. It was fun.
Last weekend, Woodies on the Wharf, but I couldn't go because of a scrapbooking party. I actually made a page and intend to finish the rest. If only I'd get the desire together. I'm just enjoying my clean apartment. Amy was house-sitting last week, so it was all mine for a bit. It was nice. I even went home for lunch every day. Today I brought my lunch and read in the park.
I started reading Tale of Two Cities. It's interesting enough, but it wasn't what I was reading at lunch.
I was reading a rather interesting book about a true lady and her siblings in San Francisco in the 1860's. It remains to be seen if they maintain their clean standing. (I'm sure they will. I think I know the end already, and I'm only in chapter 6.)
This weekend, I am going to the Concert on the Green, downtown. It should be fun, all that live music. I'll have to slather on the sunscreen and wear comfy shoes.
So there is my month, in a wrap-up, excluding all the annoying stuff like work. (ick. Why dwell on it?)
So I hope to have an equally busy July. And August for that matter. So here goes....
